About Us
North Bristol & South Gloucestershire (NBSG) Foodbank is a registered charity (1195058) founded by Ebenezer Church and Filton Community Church to combat hunger across North Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We operate nine foodbank outlets serving communities including Horfield, Lockleaze, Southmead, Patchway, Yate, Thornbury, Mangotsfield, Redcliffe and Stokes Croft.
Operating on our values of compassion, justice, community, and dignity, we extend beyond emergency food provision through our "Advice First" model, focusing on preventing food bank dependency by addressing poverty's root causes. We collaborate closely with Citizens Advice Bristol and South Glos to provide comprehensive support services.
We are transforming our traditional model into community hubs that offer more than emergency food assistance. We work through a referral system, partnering with care professionals including doctors, health visitors, social workers, and police to identify people in crisis. Our network of volunteers sorts and distributes donated food, ensuring those in need receive three days' emergency food supply along with additional support and guidance.
